The Simson Softball team dropped a pair of games at Coe Saturday in American Rivers Conference action. The storm jumped out to a 3-0 lead in game one but a six-run fifth inning put Coe ahead for good. Megan Crockett had a solo home run for the Storm.
In game two it was all Coe as they raced out to a huge lead thanks to a six-run fourth inning. The Storm trailed 10-4 going into the seventh inning and scored four runs but could not tie the game and fell 10-8. Storm coach Brent Mathias spoke with KNIA Sports about a quick turnaround for the team after these games.
“We have to get back to work but we don’t have a lot of time cause Monday we will be back at it with two games against a very good Nebraska Wesleyan team.”
With the losses, Simson falls to 17-12 overall 2-6 in American Rivers Conference play.
