On Sunday, April, 17 at 9:32 pm Knoxville Police were dispatched to the 500 block of W Jackson Street in Knoxville in regards to a report that a male had fired a weapon inside the residence. Officers spoke with the two homeowners, and they stated that 26-year-old Jacob Patchett fired the gun in his room. Patchett admitted to firing the weapon in the room and admitted to consuming marijuana earlier in the night. Officers obtained a search warrant and found a Glock 19 Gen 5 weapon in the bedroom along with 372.5 grams of marijuana, THC cartridges, or THC wax. The loose marijuana wax was field tested and tested positive for marijuana. Officers also found a prescription pill bottle that had a label stating it belonged to another individual, the bottle contained four pills of Gabapentin which is available by prescription only. While officers were waiting for the search warrant Patchett spit on one of the officers, which was witnessed by a second officer. Patchett was charged with Failure to Affix Drug Stamp a Class D Felony, Reckless Use of a Firearm Property Damage an Aggravated Misdemeanor, Unlawful Possession of Prescription Drug, Assault on Persons in Certain Occupations, and Possession of a Controlled Substance Marijuana First Offense all are Serious Misdemeanors.

As with any criminal case, a charge is merely an accusation and a defendant is innocent until proven guilty
