PCM Girls Track Places Eighth at Eddyville
PCM’s girls’ track and field squad placed eighth in the Eddy Girls Relays at Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont Tuesday.
The Mustangs finished with a team score of 54 points, seven points ahead of ninth-place Pella Christian. Tiffani Koonce had the high finish for PCM in the 1500 meter run, placing second with a time of 5:54. Addison Steenhoek placed second in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:16.
The Mustangs will be back on the track Thursday for a meet at Roland-Story.
PCM Boys Track Places Seventh at BGM
PCM’s boys’ track and field squad placed seventh at the Bear Trax Classic at BGM Tuesday night.
The Mustangs finished with 39 team points, ten ahead of eighth place ahead of Highland. In the 400-meter hurdles, Griffin Olson finished second with a time of 59.69 seconds. The second-place finish was the highest finish of the night for PCM.
The Mustangs will be back on the track Thursday for a meet at Waukee.
PCM Girls Golf Competes at Lincoln Valley
PCM’s girls’ golf squad traveled up to Lincoln Valley Golf Course in West Marshall Tuesday.
The Mustangs had three golfers compete, who were Eleigh Davis, Riley Johannes, and Deanna McHargue. Davis finished as the low golfer with a score of 109. Johannes placed second with a 130, and McHargue finished with a score of 153.
The Mustangs will take the course Thursday for an invitational at Edmundson Golf Course in Oskaloosa.
PCM Soccer Surpasses Win Total From Last Season
PCM’s soccer squad got back in the win column with a victory over Centerville, 4-0, Tuesday night.
The Mustangs surpassed their win total from 2021, getting their third win of the year. PCM also secured their second shutout victory of the season. Tyler Kuecker accounted for two of the Mustangs’ four goals. The other two came from Carson Vandelune and Donovan Nickelson. PCM improves their record to 3-3 on the season.
PCM will take the rest of the week to prepare for their next match, which is a make-up game Monday at Chariton.
