The Pella City Council approved a pair of service agreements for upcoming projects at their meeting Tuesday.

Resolutions included an engineering services agreement with Garden & Associates for the Apron Expansion at the Pella Municipal Airport for $65,900 and a technical services agreement with NewCom Technologies for $461,992.76 to provide professional consulting services for design and procurement of infrastructure to construct and operate a fiber transport network connecting Pella Fiber to Indianola Municipal Utilities. For the fiber oversight, the cost will be split with Indianola, with the City of Pella paying approximately $231,000.

The council also approved a construction contract and performance bond with Wesco Distribution for $286,881.98 to furnish a 15 kV medium voltage power cable, to be installed by the City of Pella electric department.

During policy and planning, the council held discussion about financing for the Long-Term Facilities Plan, creating a Pella Police Department Lateral Officer Hiring Bonus, a change to a proposed Indecent Exposure Drafted Ordinance, and a drafted ordinance temporarily waiving design permit requirements for Peddler Permits within the Oskaloosa Street Corridor.
