Five Indianola spring sports are in action today, with girls golf, boys and girls tennis, and girls and boys track all competing.

The Indianola girls track and field team hosts the Ron Werling Relays, their annual home track and field meet that will include Des Moines Lincoln, Norwalk, Ottumwa, Southeast Polk, and Waukee Northwest. Indians senior Grace Giofreddi tells KNIA Sports the Indians have a nice mix of seniors and underclassmen, and the dynamic between the two groups is great as the seniors like having the leadership role and the underclassmen are ready and willing to learn. The Ron Werling Relays begin at 4:30pm.

The boys track squad competes at Waukee High School along with 13 other schools, just two days after making the road trip to Ankeny. Competition begins at 4pm.

The Indians girls golf squad, fresh off a competition on Tuesday, makes the road trip to Otter Creek Golf Course in Ankeny today, matching up with twelve other schools around the metro. Tee off is at 9am.

Little Hawkeye Conference action continues for both the Indians boys and girls tennis programs as they face off against the Tigers of Grinnell, the boys hosting and the girls on the road. Both teams are unblemished in conference action so far this season, with the matches beginning at 4:15pm.
