The City of Indianola and Indianola City Council held a work session at their most recent meeting, receiving an update on city facilities needs. Interim City Manager Charlie Dissell tells KNIA News the current plan is to have a combined City Hall/Public Library Building as well as a Public Safety Building for the Indianola Police and Fire Departments to occupy, which is currently projected at $46 million. Dissell also said the council can make a decision on whether to put a bond referendum out to the public this fall.
“At our next meeting on May 2nd, the council will be presented with some more in depth cost details of what those proposals could cost the city and how we get the funding for that as well. It’s a culmination of three-and-a-half years of work on what we actually need for public buildings, and now we just need to figure out how we get there.”
