The Iowa Tourism Awards were held this week, and a longtime leader in promoting tourism in Pella was recognized.

Jill Vandevoort was selected as Outstanding Individual Leader among rural communities statewide.

Vandevoort, who retired in December as the Director of the Pella Convention and Visitors Bureau, earned the recognition for her years of service in promoting the Pella community to visitors.
