Pella Historical Society and Museums are calling all young princes and noble lords. Their time has come to battle it out for the crown, as Dutch King’s Day festivities come to Pella on Saturday, April 30.

Daytime Activities will be held for free from 9:00am-1:00pm in the Pella Historical Village, including games, crafts and activities, and sweet and savory treats available. King’s Day is free and open to the public, except for tours of the Vermeer Windmill, which are available for a fee.

King’s Day night life will feature live music by Travis Carrico, hors d’oeuvres, a special King’s Day brew from Gezellig Brewing Co. and other drinks, games and entertainment. This event will be open to 21+ only, and tickets are required. Tickets will be available at the gate, or for an early bird rate by purchasing tickets ahead of time here.

King’s Day is a national holiday in the Netherlands. Celebrated in late April, the date of the 27th marks the birth of King Willem-Alexander.
