The Indianola girls soccer team fell to Ankeny 8-0 on the road Friday, while the boys dropped a Little Hawkeye Conference matchup against Newton 3-1.

The Indians boys went into halftime down just 1-0, but couldn’t recover in the second half despite getting a goal from Eric Schmidt against a stingy Newton defense, with Dax Clatt earning the assist. The Indians are now 2-9 on the season, and travel to Grinnell on Tuesday.

Girls head coach Erin Ebling tells KNIA Sports the squad needs to continue to work on playing their game and controlling the pace, and not letting the other team dictate what they are doing.
