Newly hired Indianola City Manager Ben Reeves is set to begin in May, which will include a transition process meeting with elected officials and community leaders. Reeves tells KNIA News one of his goals will be to keep local decisions local, while also being able to take advantage of economic and population growth with the proximity to the growing Des Moines metro area.

“There’s a lot of value with having good working relationships with neighboring entities and jurisdictions, especially near the metropolitan center. But it’s also just as important to recognize what’s great about Indianola needs to remain great and independent. So you can have a great quality of life and still have the amenities nearby.”
