The Knoxville City Council recently approved a Community Development block grant application and the Associated Municipal Grant for the building owned by Tyler and Nicole Vander Linden at 203 E. Main Street in downtown Knoxville. Knoxville City Manager Heather Ussery spoke with KNIA/KRLS News about the project

“The block grant is new funding available through the state this year, and we thought this building would be a great project. The Iowa Economic Development Authority did a downtown assessment last May and kind of picked on a couple of buildings more than others and this building was one of them. This is a larger building on a corner lot and has one of those large metal facades, and we felt this would be a prime project for this grant opportunity.”

With the approval the application will be submitted to the state.
