The Pleasantville City Council met in a regular session Wednesday. The council approved the RISE Grant agreement between the state of Iowa and the city, and the council approved an agreement with Snyder and Associates to design, prepare the document, and bid on the RISE Grant project. The city received 1.4 million dollars through the RISE Grant program and will use the funds for the project at the intersection of Highway 5 and Pleasant Street. The project will incorporate turning lanes off of Highway 5, along with a sewer lift station that will give a developer the ability to connect to city sewers in areas that once could not be developed. The city’s hope is the design will be completed this summer with potential construction to start this fall. The Pleasantville City Council also approved sewer adjustments at 108 S. Sunset Drive and 505 S. Business Highway 5.
