The Indianola Police Department wants to warn the public of scam calls that are targeting the area.
Multiple reports have been submitted of scam calls from those claiming to be law enforcement and saying there is a warrant out for an arrest, which can be avoided by paying with a credit card over the phone.
The Indianola Police Department says any law enforcement will most likely not be calling anyone about a warrant for your arrest, they will never ask for a card number over the phone or payment regarding a warrant, and if you do get a call from a person claiming to be law enforcement and you are concerned if it is legitimate, you can call the police department non-emergency number to be transferred to an officer.
