Newly hired Indianola City Manager Ben Reeves begins on May 23rd, after being hired in early April from his current job in Santaquin, Utah. Reeves tells KNIA News one of the reasons he works in local government is he believes in public service.

“A public servant is someone who makes your community great. It’s not so much the fact you have essential services, clearly you need to turn your faucet on and flush the toilet and have those things taken care of, but it’s everything from the great events your community has to the soccer and baseball and every program in between. All built on a foundation of strong public safety, knowing you can rely on the police, fire, and ambulance when you need them, and count on the utilities that are provided. All of them come together to make life better, and that’s what public service is about.”
