The Indianola School Board approved the bid for the District Auxiliary Services Building for just under $6.6 million at their meeting Tuesday. Superintendent Art Sathoff tells KNIA News the board tabled the item at their last meeting after the low bid came in approximately $600,000 over the estimate to get more information. Sathoff said after speaking to the architects, the board felt their questions were answered.
“After it was tabled last time the low bidder reached out proactively to our architect and provided a lot of information that filled in the blanks for the board. Really the whole issue is our Warren County soil, we have expansive clays and you never know what you might run into. So with any project you have to plan for things that might become necessary.”
