The Knoxville Boys Golf Squad battled high winds and bad conditions for the second straight day to finish 3rd at its own invitational at Pine Knolls Country Club on Saturday. The Panthers shot a 343 which was 15 shots off of winner Pella eight back of Grinnell. Evan Smith was 3rd with a 79. The Panthers head to Cedar Rapids for a meet on Tuesday. Meanwhile on the Pitch at Randy Wilson Track, the Knoxville Boys Soccer Squad had a midmorning match with Pella Christian and fell to the Eagles 2-1. Jay Kellar was the only goal for the Panthers. Coach Dylan Mick told KNIA/KRLS Sports they got down early on a penalty kick and the wind played havoc for both teams. He added they had several shots on goal but just could not put it in the net. The Panthers host Centerville on Tuesday.
