The Indianola School Board approved the bid for the Middle School Renovation Project at their most recent meeting for $336,000 to improve several areas throughout the school. Superintendent Art Sathoff tells KNIA News the low bid came in under the architect’s estimate, allowing the school to save funds.

“The estimate was $360,000 on the renovation so it was nice to come in under budget on that one for the construction. We are now working on a contract with the contractor which is DDVI, and will have work begin over the summer and we are really looking forward to being able to use that space more efficiently.”

The project will include a renovation of the media center into two smaller flexible use classrooms and one medium size classroom, and utilizing storage space for a dedicated Special Education Classroom.
