The Knoxville Boys Tennis Squad finished a respectable 4th at the South Central Conference Meet on Monday held at the Joel Tonda Tennis Courts. The Panthers were helped by the doubles duo of Grant Liston and Joe Ferguson, who won the conference title in doubles. The Panthers scored 12 team points and were one out of 3rd place and three points out of a runner-up spot. Knoxville will play in the Ottumwa Invitational on Saturday. On the links at Gateway Recreation in Monroe, the Knoxville Girls Golf Squad tied Saydel for runner-up with a score of 231, Pella won the meet with a 202 and the Mustangs came in with a 246. Knoxville’s Faith Roozeboom brought home a medalist title with a 46. Other scores for Knoxville were Braylee Mason with a 57, Hayden Hudson with a 60, Isabella Day-Suhr carding a 68, Hannah Burkhart with a 74 and Hannah Lawson with a 75. The Panthers are scheduled to head to Albia on Thursday. The Knoxville Girls Soccer Squad ventured to Pella Christian and got a big road win over the Eagles 1-0. The lone goal came from Taylor Jones, her 14th goal of the season, on a penalty kick and goalie Abby Wadle produced a shutout. Knoxville is now 7-5 on the season, winners of five in a row and hosts Centerville as part of a girl/boy double header tonight at Randy Wilson Track.
