Pella Boys Fall in Top 10 Soccer Showdown
In a top ten showdown, #7 in 2A Pella traveled to Johnston Middle School to play #2 in 2A Dallas Center-Grimes on Monday evening, falling 1-0 in a defensive classic between the conference rivals. Neither team had many opportunities to score according to Dutch Head Coach Mark Solomon, as both defenses played strong.

With only 6 minutes remaining in the match, DCG created a breakaway opportunity, and Solomon says the Mustangs’ attacker and Pella’s Center Back were stride for stride — even sliding for the ball at the same time, but it ended up just finding a corner of the goal. Pella falls to 12-2 overall and is next in action after Tulip Time.
