The Knoxville Panther Scholarship Foundation will hold its 19th annual Awards night Wednesday, May 11, at 7:00 pm at the Knoxville Performing Arts Center. Knoxville Panther Scholarship Foundation Board President Kurt Froyen spoke with KNIA/KRLS News about the event.
“We will be honoring the members of the Knoxville High School graduating class of 2022. We will be awarding foundation scholarships and also community scholarships as well. The difference between the two scholarships is that the foundation scholarships are chosen by the foundation and the community scholarships the students apply to individuals and those are chosen by that community scholarship donor.” This year we received 77 applications for a foundation scholarship. Each of those students will receive one scholarship. We have also received 74 members of the graduating classes of 2019, 2020, and 2021 applying for scholarships as we give out scholarships for four years. This year we will be giving out $104,000 to former graduates and another $44,000 to current graduates.
