Norwalk Girls Tennis Meet Canceled, Girls and Boys Tennis Have Little Hawkeye Conference Meets

 

Due to rainy weather in the forecast, Norwalk’s girls’ tennis match at Indianola is canceled.

 

The Warriors’ girls will be back in action today for the Little Hawkeye Conference Meet at Grinnell High School today. Norwalk is coming off a 9-2 victory over Pella Christian Thursday, and will be looking for a high finish in a stacked conference. The Warriors have lost only one match all season, which was against Pella.

 

The Warriors’ boys will travel to Indianola for their Little Hawkeye Conference Meet. Norwalk has won one match this season, which was against Newton April 21. The Warriors have played just four matches all season, who were against Newton, Johnston, Grinnell, and Pella. Norwalk will be looking to compete at a high level.

 

Both meets for Norwalk get underway at 10:00 AM.

 

Norwalk Girls Golf Drops Final Duel Conference Match

 

Norwalk’s girls’ golf squad ends the dual conference season on a sour note, losing to Newton Tuesday.

 

The Warriors lost to the Cardinals on the road, 174-230. Calissa O’Connor finished as Norwalk’s low golfer Tuesday, finishing with a 54. This is the first time a golfer not named Emily Juergens finished as the Warriors’ low golfer in a meet this season. Norwalk will finish the Little Hawkeye Conference with a dual record of 3-3.

 

Norwalk’s next meet will be their Little Hawkeye Conference Meet next Monday at Pella.

 

Norwalk Girls and Boys Soccer Defeats Grinnell

 

Both of Norwalk’s soccer squads came away with impressive victories over Little Hawkeye Conference foe Grinnell Tuesday.

 

The No. 1 in Class 2A Warriors’ girls improved their record to 12-0 on the season with a 4-1 victory over Grinnell. Jocelyn Bice had two goals and one assist in the match. Braelyn Clark and Allison Schumacher each chipped in a goal. Addison Burch and Anna Larson each added an assist for Norwalk. This is the first time Norwalk allowed a goal in their previous five matches.

 

The Warriors’ boys notched their third straight win with a 7-0 shutout victory over Grinnell. Spencer Taylor, Jack Brown, Chase Monroe, Tavin Ferner, and Drake Stageman all scored goals for Norwalk. Monroe, Brown, Caden Endres, and Jayden Blake all had assists. Norwalk’s record improves to 6-7 and 3-1 in Little Hawkeye Conference play.

 

Norwalk’s boys will be back in action for a non-conference match at Des Moines East, while Norwalk’s girls will have a true test on the road Friday in an undefeated showdown at Des Moines Valley.
