Phase 2 of the Indianola Downtown Square Reconstruction Project continued this week, including the completion of sewer work on Salem and Howard Ave.Electrical work was completed on Salem, the benches from Phase 1 of the project began to be installed, and electrical conduit work on Howard was started.

Over the next week, the excavation of rock chambers will begin, the installation of subdrains, rock, and subbase will start, and prep work for the laying of subgrade will also begin.

Phase 1 installations such as planting is expected to begin May 16th, and road paving of Salem and Howard will begin that week. Sidewalks installed in front of street facing businesses on Salem is expected to begin late May-early June, and as work is completed on Salem and Howard crews will develop a concrete timeline for the work on Ashland.
