The majority of high school athletics’ spring sports teams are either close to or already transitioning to postseason competition, and for Pella High School, a busy few weeks awaits as teams prepare to compete among the best in Iowa.

On Monday, the Pella boys and girls golf teams will compete among the schools of the Little Hawkeye Conference — for the 7th ranked Dutch boys, that means a trip to Norwalk, while for the girls, it’s a home invitational at the Pella Golf and Country club. Both coaches Bob Fessler and Joe Tangen are excited for the opportunity to compete among the best in the league as they gear up for the state playoffs.

While a bit of the regular season remains for the Pella girls golfers, the boys will begin the sectional tournament Wednesday at Edmundson Golf Course in Oskaloosa.

The #2 Pella boys tennis team–fresh off of Little Hawkeye Conference regular season and tournament crowns, begins their postseason journey Monday at Knoxville for the district tournament, with the goal of winning the event to earn a top-seed for the team tournament and to advance several singles and doubles players to the individual state bracket.

The #3 Pella girls tennis team–who also swept the conference championships this year, will send their singles and doubles players to the regional tournament Wednesday at Pella Christian High School, with the aim of qualifying their individual entries to state prior to the team tournament beginning the following week.

And the Dutch track and field teams will host their final regular season meet of 2022 at Pella High School this Monday before traveling to Bondurant Thursday for the 2022 3A District meet, where they intend to qualify several entries to compete for state championships.
