Norwalk’s girls’ tennis squad finished with a 2-1 record in a quad meet at Ankeny Friday, while the girls’ soccer squad lost their first match of the season to West Des Moines Valley.

 

The Warriors’ girls tennis squad came away with victories over Marshalltown and Southeast Polk, while only losing to the host Ankeny. Norwalk defeated Marshalltown in the first match, 9-2. The second match for the Warriors was an 8-3 loss to Ankeny. Norwalk’s final dual match of the day was a dominating 9-2 victory over Southeast Polk. Norwalk will wrap up the regular season with a Little Hawkeye Conference match at Oskaloosa Monday.

 

The No. 1 in Class 2A Warriors’ girls soccer squad suffered their first loss of the season at No. 1 in Class 3A West Des Moines Valley Friday night, 4-1. The four goals by the Tigers are the most allowed by the Warriors in a match this season and the first time they allowed multiple goals in a match. Norwalk’s lone goal was scored by Jocelyn Bice in the second half. Norwalk’s record drops to 12-1 on the season.

 

Norwalk will be back in action Tuesday with the potential to clinch the Little Hawkeye Conference Championship at Dallas Center-Grimes.
