The Pella Christian boys tennis team’s postseason run begins tomorrow and the Eagles are hoping that the success they found in the program’s second season will help them make a deep run.
In the program’s first season following a nearly 10 year hiatus last year, the P.C. boys tennis squad was winless. This spring the Eagles not only picked up their first win, but collected a winning record. Head Coach Aaron Fitzgerald believes those results come from the dedication of his team this season.
“With that success, there’s a reason for it, right? We see the positive symptom of the things that we’re doing in practice on a regular basis. And so I think as people see the success become more regular, they’re going to think, oh there’s something to that, you know, we’re not just smoke and mirrors. I mean, the things that we’re doing to prepare these guys for matches is the reason that they’re so successful.”
The Eagles boys tennis team begins the postseason with the district tournament in Knoxville at 8 a.m.
