The Melcher-Dallas Boys Track and Field Squad finished 3rd while the girls were 6th at the Demon Relays at Lamoni on Monday. The boys got three 1st place medals from Owen Suntken in the 110 high hurdles in a time of :17.04, while Logan Godfrey took first in the high jump with a jump of 5/10 he also placed 3rd in the 100. The Saints Shuttle Hurdle Relay team of Suntken, Anthony Schneider, Lucas Harrington, and Godfrey won with a time of 1:10.93. For the girls, Gabby Overgaard won the shot put with a personal best toss of 34 feet 6 3/4 inches ,she was also 2nd in the discus. Other 2nd place medals went to the 4×200 meter relay team of Saydi Benz, Karsyn Mateer, Jenna Mickey, and Summer Karpan and the Distance Medley team of Haylie Hendrickson, Hayden Branson, Benz, and Karpan. 3rd place showings were by Kianna Jackson in the 3000 and the 4×400 meter relay team of Benz, Mateer, Branson, and Hendrickson. The Saints are off until Thursday when they head to Wayne for the class 1A State qualifier.
