The Knoxville School Board approved the Facilities Task Force recommendation to allocate 2.5 million dollars to upgrade Randy Wilson Track. Knoxville School District Superintendent Cassi Pearson spoke with KNIA/KRLS News about the decision.
“The recommendation was to create a new group to look into the preservation of Ken Locke Stadium and to spend the money in a way at Randy Wilson Track that will help us meet handicapped accessibility, safety codes, and with general improvements on the field out there. The board voted 4 to 1 to accept the recommendation, and the work is now just beginning as we start a new group that will look into preserving Ken Locke Stadium and we will get that ball moving forward.”
