Based on estimates from Pella Historical Society, early indications are the 2022 Tulip Time celebration was record breaking. According to the Tulip Time Steering Committee, they believe on metrics they use every year to estimate the amount of festival attendees, just over 200,000 people likely participated this past weekend.

Pella Historical Society and the committee utilize: parking numbers, ticket sales at the Historical Village, ticket sales at grandstands, food vendor feedback, and the depth of the crowd during the parades. This year, those estimates suggested that this year was slightly better than the record set in 2017, which was approximately 200,000 people. This year, the initial number was closer to 202,000; 40,000 on Thursday, 62,000 on Friday, and 100,000 on Saturday.
