The Indianola School Board received the recommendation from the District Facilities Task Force at their meeting Tuesday, recommending the “Replace in Place” option for upgrades to Indianola High School. Board President Rob Keller tells KNIA News the process is still well in the planning stages, and he thinks before any decision is made the board will need to hear much more from the public.
“I believe personally, and I don’t know if I’m speaking for the rest of the board, but I believe personally that we still have a ways to go in that regard. The next step is a petition to the public, and I think that is vital to understand where the public’s at on this. Since the very start we have wanted this to come to us from the public. If the public feels this is a need, this was an idea generated from the board, but we wanted to see what the public thought about this. If the public feels that this is a need and they want to be behind this, then the signatures required for this are going to be easy. If they are not going to be behind this, then those signatures will be a little more difficult to get.”
