Norwalk Girls Golf Places 6th at Southeast Polk

 

Norwalk’s girls’ golf squad finished their regular season with a sixth-place finish at the Southeast Polk Invitational Monday.

 

The Warriors finished with a team score of 411, which is the highest team score in a meet for Norwalk this season. Emily Juergens and Calissa O’Connor came away with personal bests. Juergens had an 86, while O’Connor shot a 101. The sixth-place finish by Norwalk is the lowest finish of the season.

 

Regional postseason play for Norwalk begins Wednesday at Willow Creek Golf Course.

 

Norwalk Boys Soccer Defeats Indianola to Wrap Up Regular Season

 

Norwalk’s boys’ soccer squad finished their regular season with a victory over Indianola Monday night, 3-1.

 

With the win, the Warriors will finish the regular season with an 8-8 record including a 6-1 record in Little Hawkeye Conference play. Izec Dingman, Jack Brown, and Spencer Taylor all chipped in a goal for Norwalk. Brown and Tracy Davis chipped in assists. Norwalk will await a full day to determine if they take home the Little Hawkeye Conference Championship. The Warriors will win it if Dallas Center-Grimes loses to Newton tonight. This concludes Norwalk’s regular season.

 

Postseason play for Norwalk will begin Thursday night. The Warriors will be at home taking on Council Bluffs Lincoln.

 

Norwalk Baseball Drops Opener to Urbandale

 

Norwalk’s baseball squad opened the season losing to Urbandale Monday night, being shut out, 4-0.

 

The Warriors open the season with their second shutout loss in as many games against the J-Hawks. Norwalk has also lost all 12 matchups between the two schools with their season-opening loss. With the loss, Norwalk drops to 0-1 on the season and will look to one in the win column quickly.

 

Norwalk will be back in action for another non-conference match at Waukee tonight. First pitch gets underway at 7:00 PM.

 

Norwalk Girls Tennis Opens Team Postseason Play Against Waukee Northwest

 

Norwalk’s girls’ tennis squad will open postseason play today at Dowling Catholic against Waukee Northwest.

 

The Warriors finished the 2022 regular season with a 7-2 dual record and a 4-1 record against Little Hawkeye Conference opponents. Their only two losses of the season were against Pella and Ankeny. The two teams were scheduled to meet April 22 for the first time, but the meet was canceled due to inclement weather. If Norwalk wins, they will play a second match today at Dowling Catholic for a regional championship.

 

The match at Dowling Catholic High School gets underway at 9:00 AM.

 

Norwalk Girls Soccer Finishes Season Against Indianola

 

No. 2 in Class 2A Norwalk’s girls’ soccer squad will wrap up the regular season tonight at home against Little Hawkeye Conference foe Indianola.

 

The Warriors are coming off splitting their home triangular with two top-ten teams in the state Friday night. Norwalk defeated No. 6 in Class 2A Lewis Central, but then lost to No. 3 in Class 2A and defending state champion Waverly-Shell Rock in their final match of the night. Norwalk won the previous four matchups with Indianola, including defeating them 5-1 last season. The Warriors can potentially finish the regular season with a tie for first place in the Little Hawkeye Conference with No. 1 in Class 2A Dallas Center-Grimes if they win and if the Mustangs lose to Newton tonight.

 

The match at Norwalk High School gets underway at 7:00 PM.
