The Knoxville City Council approved a resolution in support of new housing development in Knoxville. Knoxville City Manager Heather Ussery spoke with KNIA/KRLS News about the development.
“This is for what people have probably heard of as the Kading Development behind Walmart on Bell Avenue. They are applying with the Iowa Economic Development Authority for Workforce Housing Tax Credits this year, and as part of that application, they needed a resolution of support from the local municipality. The council approved the resolution of support to help with the application.”
The development will bring 155 market-rate rental housing units to Knoxville. Ussery gave an update on the progress of the project.
“They are currently working on laying out the infrastructure. They’ve had a little bit of a delay due to the weather. They are hoping to get the road put in in June and the footings to be completed after that.”
