The Pella City Council accepted the Wonder Spelen project at their meeting Tuesday. A change order and official completion of the upgrades at Kiwanis Park were approved.
A preliminary plat that has been tabled for several meetings for the Dingeman Subdivision at West 12th Street was approved with some conditions agreed upon by the Planning and Zoning Commission and those recommended by city administration, specifically as it relates to future development and sale of the land.
The official motion accepted:
“The developer is not able to sell Outlot A, Outlot B, or Lot 2 until all required public improvements are constructed for the 12th Street extension to the northerly border of Lot 1 and Lot 2; only one building permit is able to be issued for the preliminary plat until all required public infrastructure is installed per City Code; no building permits will be issued for Lot A; Lot A cannot be combined with another parcel for development; Lot A will be transferred to the City of Pella once W. 12th Street is constructed and accepted as a public improvement by the City Council.”
The council also scheduled future public hearings on June 21st to convey property to Pella Regional Health Center and approve contracts for Old City Hall Alley reconstruction, Prairie Street improvements, and the Prairie Ridge West sanitary sewer project. An ordinance to enhance civil penalties for indecent exposure was adopted and creation of a new chapter in city code to establish a city ambulance service had a first reading approved.
During policy and planning, the council discussed city-owned property which staff has
received inquiries from individuals interested in purchasing
