Norwalk Baseball Picks Up First Win of Season

 

Norwalk’s baseball squad picked up their first win of the season Wednesday night on the road, defeating the Boone Toreadors, 15-4.

 

The Warriors got their first runs of the season after being shutout in their first two games against Urbandale and Waukee. Norwalk registered just one hit in each of those two games. After being outscored 9-0 in their first two games, the Warriors put forth their first big offensive output of the season. The Warriors improved their record to 1-2 on the young season.

 

Norwalk will be back in action for their final game of the week at Bondurant-Farrar. First pitch is at 7:30 PM.

 

Norwalk Girls Golf Places 7th in Team Regionals

 

Norwalk’s girls’ golf squad finished the 2022 season placing seventh in team regional play at Willow Creek Golf Course in West Des Moines Wednesday.

 

The Warriors capped off the regular season with their worst team finish of the season. Norwalk finished with a team score of 422, finishing ahead of Ottumwa and Des Moines Lincoln. The Warriors low golfer of the meet was once again Emily Juergens, finishing with a score of 102. Juergens’ score was good for 26th overall.

 

This meet concludes Norwalk’s 2022 season.

 

Norwalk Boys Soccer Begins Postseason Play At Home

 

Norwalk’s boys’ soccer squad will begin postseason play tonight at home against Council Bluffs Lincoln.

 

The Warriors are coming into the postseason as Little Hawkeye Conference champions, capping the regular season with a 3-1 victory over Indianola Monday. Norwalk finished the regular season with an 8-8 record, including a 6-1 Little Hawkeye Conference record. The Warriors ended the season winning four of their final five matches. Their biggest and most important win was a penalty kick victory over Dallas Center-Grimes on the 10th. This will be the first all-time match between Norwalk and Lincoln.

 

The match at Norwalk High School gets underway at 6:30 PM.
