The Knoxville City Council approved the setting of a public hearing to discuss a new lease for a portion of the basement at city hall. Knoxville City Manager Heather Ussery spoke with KNIA/KRLS News about the lease.

“We approved a public hearing on the lease and that will take place at our next meeting. This is for the Senior Center lease. For the city to approve a lease for three years or more we have to have a public hearing. There are no changes to the lease and they have been in the city hall for many years and the current lease is expiring so we needed to extend it.”

The next city council meeting is scheduled for June 6 at 6:15 pm.
