The Pella boys track and field team slightly exceeded the goal of the Dutch coaching staff coming out of day one of the state track and field meet as several area teams from the Class 2A and 3A sessions had season best results.
After day one, Pella is in the mix of five teams with more than 15 points, and arguably have the most remaining on the table as hurdling events start to count toward points today.
1. Washington – 23
2. Dallas Center-Grimes – 21
3. Pella – 20.5
4. Newton – 20
5. Western Dubuque – 15
