Four members of the Simpson baseball team were awarded American Rivers Conference All-Conference honors this week, headlined by Conference Pitcher of the Year Brady Held.
Held was named to the first team with a 4-0 record, a league low 2.23 ERA, opponents batting average of .178, and only allowed 13 runs.
Sophomore pitcher Trey Castile and junior outfielder Ty Cowley were named to the ARC Second Team. Castile went 4-2 with a 4.25 ERA overall, going 3-1 with a 4.00 ERA in the ARC, while Cowley hit .288 with five doubles, a triple, 16 RBIs and 26 runs scored.
Senior pitcher Brett Kauzlarich was named as an Honorable Mention. Kauzlarich went 6-5 with a 4.42 ERA overall, finishing tied for second in the league in wins, and had 44 strikeouts in conference play, highlighted by a career-high 16 in a 2-1 win over Central.
