The legislative session continues at the Statehouse and the budget is still being worked on. Senator Amy Sinclair spoke with KNIA/KRLS News about one of the big topics of the budget.

“There are discussions on the differences between the expenditure of the House and the Senate. We passed a pretty comprehensive tax reform which did bring down the state’s revenue-generating potential by bringing that down to a flat tax. We will see our growth stagnate a little by dropping those percentages. Everyone loves the tax cut, but that also means we will have less money to spend. The Senate feels we need to come in with a conservative spending growth rate and the House wants to spend a little more, so we are trying to find common ground.”
