The Marion County Board of Supervisors at their Tuesday meeting passed a motion to partner with the city of Pleasantville on the Adkins Development project. With the passing of the motion, the process of putting funding together for the project has started.
Pleasantville City Administrator Joe Mrstik spoke with KNIA/KRLS News about the next steps in the process.
“We are going to have processes to go through, including public hearings. We will also have to work on developer agreements with Marion County, the city of Pleasantville, and the developer. With these hearings and agreements, we can make sure when funds are allocated they are secure and legally binding and that everything is transparent.”
The project is currently in the design phase and should be completed in July with the project to be put out to bid shortly after that.
