Declan O’Hare and Colton DeRocher of the Central College baseball team were announced as All-Region 9 selections by the American Baseball Coaches Association, and O’Hare was also named to the D3baseball.com All-Region 9 team. Declan was the second team’s utility player for both lists, while DeRocher was on the third team as an outfielder for the ABCA list. 

O’Hare was statistically Central’s top hitter and top pitcher in 2022. On the mound, he had a 2.76 ERA in 58.2 inning pitched, while tossing a pair of complete games in 10 starts to earn a 5-1 record. He struck out 48 batters, walking just 18. At the plate, O’Hare had a .380 batting average with 52 hits, 10 doubles, two triples and three home runs, and 26 RBIs in his 37 games played.

The team’s primary right fielder, DeRocher had a. 365 average and slugged .650. He became the third Central player to record 50 RBI in a single season and led the team in doubles (11) and home runs (8) while starting in 35 of 39 games.

The duo gave Central its first ABCA All-Region player since 2019. It’s also the first time since 2015 that multiple Dutch players were recognized. O’Hare is the seventh player in program history to earn D3baseball.com All-Region honors since the organization started naming the teams in 2012. He’s the first since shortstop Garrett Saunders in 2018.
