Most of the region has received between 2-3 inches of rain through several rounds of showers and thunderstorms. After one of the wettest weeks in recent years, much hotter conditions are on the horizon, according to the National Weather Service. Daytime highs will jump into the 80s this weekend, and by Monday and Tuesday, breezy conditions will push highs into the mid-90s. Those who need to be outdoors early next week should take precautions, including staying hydrated and should be planning to take frequent breaks in shade and air conditioning.
