The track and field athletes of Warren County earned recognition for their performances at the 2022 state meet. Walker Whalen broke the state meet record to win the Class 4A state discus championship, as his throw of 204 feet and nine inches was the longest among all classes this spring. Logan Piper of Indianola also earned Elite All-State honors, as his 2nd place finish in Class 4A was the fourth fastest among all classes in the 400 meter hurdles.

Claire Farrell of Norwalk was a four-time Elite All-State recipient, placing 2nd in all four of her events (100 meters, 200 meters, 400 meters, and the sprint medley relay). Marin Randall, McKenzie Koerselman, Raegan Levi, and Claire Farrell had the 3rd fastest time among all four classes in the 800 meter sprint medley. Randall was an All-State honoree in the long jump in Class 4A as well for her runner-up finish.

Norwalk’s girls placed 2nd in Class 4A, earning Head Coach Charity Campbell At-Large Coach of the Year honors.
