Class 1A #13 Twin Cedars Softball will step out of conference for a ranked match up with class 1A #5 Martensdale-St. Mary’s. The Sabers have run up and down the Bluegrass Conference with ease and finally will get a challenge with the Blue Devils. Coach Zack Dunkin tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that while rankings are nice and it is good to be recognized, there is still a lot of work to be done.

Dunkin: “You’re playing to try to get a good seed in the bracket and try not to get matched up with someone like Wayne or Southeast Warren. It’s good to be recognized, but we know we still have work to be done and at this point the ranking doesn’t really mean a ton.”

Dunkin adds a win would go a long way for regional seeding and possibly a chance to play away from Wayne, who the Sabers have had to deal with the last three seasons.
