At approximately 2:00, a semi hauling solid waste from the Rathbun area failed to negotiate a turn on the S-curves south of the county gun range in the 1900 block of T-17, tipped, and possibly rolled. The Rathbun Area Solid Waste Commission truck was transporting waste to nearby the South Central Iowa Solid Waste Agency in Tracy. The driver was transported from the scene with apparent head injuries by Mercy One Helicopter. Agencies assisting at the scene were Bussey Fire and Rescue, Indiana Township Fire and Rescue, Pella Ambulance, Knoxville Township Rural Fire, Clay Township Fire and Rescue, Marion County Emergency Management, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Mercy One, and possibly other agencies.
