Norwalk homered three times on the softball diamond and Ian Fisher pitched a five-inning perfect game in baseball Monday night as the Warriors secured a pair of doubleheader sweeps at Oskaloosa.

The fifth-ranked (Class 4A) Warrior softball team won by scores of 12-2 in six innings and 5-2 as Zadie Wadle and Addi Downe both earned victories in the circle. Norwalk’s Nyah Hulbert and Jaylynn Brandt each had three hits, including a home run, in game one, which included a Warrior five-spot in the top of the first. Lauren Black added her fourth home run of the season as part of a two-hit game in the night cap.

Norwalk improved to 19-4 overall and maintained its share of first place in the Little Hawkeye Conference with a mark of 14-1. The Indians dropped to 8-14 overall and 5-9 in league play.

It was also a big night for the Norwalk baseball team, which rallied for three runs in the top of the seventh to defeat Osky 4-3 in game one, then won 10-0 behind Fisher’s five-inning, 10-strikeout perfect game.

The Warriors’ late game-one rally featured consecutive RBI singles by Emerson Fels, Tucker Beving and CJ Davis. Vinny Mauro pitched the first five innings and allowed two earned runs while striking out seven. DJ Harris notched the win following a scoreless sixth inning and Beving recorded the final three outs for his first save.

Game two was all Norwalk as Fisher dominated on the mound for his fifth win and lowered his season ERA to 0.95. Beving, Harris, Dylan Christensen and Fels all had two hits, with Beving scoring three runs and Christensen driving in four.

The Warrior baseball team improved to 16-10 overall and got back over the .500 mark in Little Hawkeye Conference play at 8-7. They will return to action Wednesday night, hosting Newton in a game that will be broadcast live on 94.3 KNIA.

The Warrior softball team returns home tonight for a 5:30 varsity doubleheader against Des Moines Roosevelt.
