A structure fire occurred at 309 W. Pleasant Street in Knoxville this morning. The fire started in the basement when an electrical issue caused a dryer cord to catch fire, causing the dryer to catch fire as well. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire and get the smoke out of the basement. No injuries were reported. The Knoxville Fire Department and the Knoxville Police Department were on scene.
