pleasantville-3

The Pleasantville Baseball team will be back in action today at 10:am against Madrid in a double header. These games were originally scheduled for Thursday. Pleasantville Baseball Head coach Sheldon Card spoke with KNIA/KRLS Sports about the style of play Madrid will bring into their double header.

“Their coach is an old softball coach so they play the small ball game well. Our corner infielders need to be ready as everyone in their lineup is a threat to bunt and put pressure on our defense.”

The Trojans enter the weekend 10-7 overall.

The Pleasantville softball team will play a pair of Class 5A ranked teams at the Ankeny tournament today. The Trojans will Play #9 Ankeny at 10:00 am and #6 Ankeny Centennial at 12:00 pm. Trojan’s head coach Alee Philips spoke with KNIA/KRLS Sports about her team playing the bigger schools.

“We are that school that is borderline being competitive with these bigger schools. Since we are playing bigger schools we might not be expected to do much but that takes the pressure off of us and we can go in there and play our game.”

The Trojans are 9-12 overall heading into today’s games.
