The Melcher-Dallas Softball Squad is back on the field tonight finishing off Bluegrass Conference play against Seymour. This is also the final regular season game as the Saints will play Grandview Christian Friday night in the first round of the class 1A regional. Melcher-Dallas has been struggling for wins as of late and have lost seven in a row after losing starting pitcher BrieAnna Remster for the season. Coach Emilie Krpan tells KNIA Sports she has had to press a few of her younger players sooner than what she would like, and she is careful to balance giving them advice while not trying to reinvent the wheel.

Krpan: “I do as much as I can to boost their confidence, I try not to do too much but if there a tip I can gie them, then I will, but I think they’re doing great.”

Saydi Benz has become the starter for the Saints and has a 4-4 record with a 3.86 ERA with 29 walks and 27 strikeouts.
