With postseason time nearing closer, and only one regular season contest left, the Indianola softball team is ready to compete against the best in class 4A beginning in Regional play on Saturday. Team captain Mara Bishop tells KNIA Sports this season has not been easy, and there have been a lot of ups and downs, but they know what they need to do in order to accomplish their goals.
“These next games I think we really need to go in with a positive mindset and know we have to make contact. Once we make contact with balls we are getting on base and that’s when special things happen with our team. When we go up there and have no contact, no long at-bats, that’s when we struggle. So I think we need to have that mindset to have long at-bats and see the ball through, and we’ll be successful this postseason.”
Indianola plays Fort Dodge in their regular season finale on Wednesday, then await their Regional Semifinal opponent on Saturday.
