The Knoxville Federated Garden Club will hold their Sitting Pretty Garden Contest on Saturday, July 9 at Brooks Park in Knoxville. Patsy Murphy from the Knoxville Federated Garden Club spoke with KNIA/KRLS News about the event.
“We have held this event for several years and it is a very fun event that is free and open to the public. People will plant flowers in a container and place them on a chair or they can cut a hole in the seat of the chair as well. We will have three judges that will judge on creativity and the combination of plants. We will award first, second, and third places with first place receiving $100, second place $50, and third place $25. This is a fun event for the community to come out and look at flowers.”
Entries will be accepted between 8:00 am to 9:00 am with the judging starting at 9:30 am.
