The Knoxville Police Department held their Freedom 5K on Monday. Knoxville Police Officer Kyle Keller spoke with KNIA/KRLS News about the race.
“This was a better turnout than expected. We are glad the heavy rain stayed away even though I am sure that the little rain was good for the runners. The temperature is great, usually, it’s 80 or 90 degrees. So everything was good. This is a great start to the day.”
Isaac Rankin was the first person across the finish line at 19:55, and the first female to cross the finish line was Heather Dunkin at 26:44.
